Getting Started — Official Ledger® Setup Guide

Step 1: Install Ledger Live

Begin your journey by installing Ledger Live — the official management app for Ledger hardware wallets. It serves as your interface to view, manage, and secure crypto assets in one place.

Step 2: Set Up Your Ledger Device

Connect your device via USB or Bluetooth. Follow the intuitive setup process:

Create a secure 4- to 8-digit PIN
Write down your unique 24-word recovery phrase
Confirm the phrase to complete your backup

Security Tip: Never store your recovery phrase digitally or online. Write it down and store it in a safe offline location.

Step 3: Add Crypto Accounts

Install apps for each supported cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Solana. After installing, add corresponding accounts in Ledger Live to view balances and receive assets securely.

Step 4: Send, Receive, Stake & More

With everything set up, you can send and receive crypto, buy and sell through integrated partners, and even stake supported tokens like DOT, ETH, and ATOM. Ledger Live also supports NFT viewing and Web3 dApp access — all from a single, secure environment.
